My Approach

I have an integrative approach to therapy utilizing methodology from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, and Narrative Therapy to help individuals with symptom reduction, personal growth, emotional regulation, and greater connection with self and others. We will look at what is working in your life and what is not and together we will find ways for you to find contentment.

In my work with couples, I utilize the Gottman Method as the basis for improving a couple's emotional and physical intimacy, communication, and trust as they deepen their connection and increase relationship satisfaction.

In addition, I support my clients by providing suggested methods that they can quickly implement to solve problems and form positive coping skills.

Whether you are seeking therapy to address relationship issues or personal struggles, I am here to support and guide you through the process. Let's work together to navigate your unique journey so you discover your true self and live your best life.

Some Methodology From Which I Draw

Pebble Beach

1

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that helps individuals to understand and heal their inner selves. It is based on the idea that our psyche is made up of different parts, each with its own unique characteristics and functions. IFS aims to help individuals identify and communicate with these parts, leading to greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and emotional healing.

2

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) a type of psychotherapy that focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors to improve mental health. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that by changing one, we can positively impact the others. CBT is often used to treat anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions.

3

Solution-Focused Therapy

Solution-focused therapy is a type of brief psychotherapy that focuses on finding solutions to current problems, rather than analyzing the past or exploring the root causes of issues. It is based on the belief that people have the resources and strengths to solve their own problems, and that the therapist's role is to help them identify and build on these resources. Solution-focused therapy is typically short-term and goal-oriented, with a focus on creating practical, achievable steps towards a desired outcome.

4

Gottman Method

The Gottman Method is a type of couples therapy that focuses on building a strong, healthy relationship between partners. Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, this approach emphasizes communication, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution skills. Through a series of exercises and techniques, couples can learn to deepen their connection and strengthen their bond.

5

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a therapeutic technique that helps individuals process and release trauma, negative emotions, and physical pain. It involves identifying a "brainspot" - a specific point in the visual field that correlates with the issue being addressed - and using focused attention to activate the body's natural healing processes. Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting has been used to treat a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and chronic pain.

SPACE

SPACE - Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions is a parent directed research informed treatment for childhood anxiety and OCD developed at Yale Childhood Study Center. SPACE helps parents support their children who experience anxiety. It involves creating a safe and supportive environment for the child, validating their emotions, and teaching them coping skills. By using SPACE, parents can help their children manage their anxiety and build resilience.

Help is just a phone call or an email away. I like to have an initial conversation with potential new clients so that we can determine if we are a good fit for each other. Not all therapists are the perfect match for a client. It's a relationship that has to be comfortable and easy.
