Parenting

Parenting can be challenging, and it's normal to feel anxious about making the right choices. However, it's important to remember that there isn't always a right answer and there is no such thing as a "perfect" parent. Being a "good enough" parent who tries their best to take care of their child is more important than striving for perfection. The constant changes in your child's development, outside influences, and social pressures are all factors that make parenting feel like you're pushing a bolder up a hill sometimes.  However, there are things you can do to improve your parenting skills, and seeking help from a therapist is one of them.

Therapy can provide you with tools for:

  • Setting appropriate boundaries and reasonable consequences

  • Modifying problem behaviors in your child

  • Co-parenting or step-parenting

  • Being a single parent

  • Understanding the ages and stages of child development

  • Finding a balance between self-care and caring for your child

  • A place to vent, and feel heard and understood

Together we will capitalize on your existing strengths and you will develop new parenting skills.

I invite you to contact me for a complimentary 15-minute consultation.
